Species. The term 'microphylla' means small leaves which exactly describes the foliage of this special Camellia. Fragrant, tiny, star-shaped, single white flowers with yellow stamens. Dense shrubby habit, suitable for hedging or border planting. Happiest in semi-shade and acid soil. Evergreen.

This species Camellia is one of the first Camellias to flower in the autumn. I first saw it in a friend's garden and knew it was a 'must have'. I enjoy it more every year as it is so rewarding yet easy to grow. Looks good even when not in flower.
