aka Key Lime

Citrus. Mexican or Key Lime. Flowers and fruits almost continuously if grown in a nice warm sheltered position. The fruit is small and round and yellow when completely ripe. Ideal for container growing. Needs protection from frost. Popular for culinary purposes. Evergreen.

Limes can be used green when they are considered immature right through to when they turn yellow when they are fully ripe. The most tangy 'Lime' flavour is obtained when the fruit are half way between and are coloured a yellow-green. Citrus Information Pages
