aka Blue Oat Grass

Blue Oat Grass. Highly desirable perennial 'grass' that has arching, blue-grey, needles of foliage that form a robust clump. Panicles of cream 'oat' like flowers appear in summer. Hardy and easy to grow as long as your soil is well drained. Looks great as an edging or mass planted. Evergreen.

Though this is generally a neat and tidy 'grass' it can be sheared back to encourage new growth if it starts to look a bit scruffy. This is usually done in late winter - just before spring.

A prostrate ground hugging perennial with a dense mat of green leaves that in summer becomes smothered by bright cerise pink flowers. Quite a show off really and easy to grow in a sunny well drained spot. Needs protection from frost. Evergreen.

Mophead. One of our favourite Hydrangeas. Gorgeous large white flower heads that open from soft lime green buds. Lovely to pick. Best planted in dappled light in soil that does not completely dry out in summer. Deciduous.

A fascinating and fabulous, designer conifer that is used extensively as a feature landscaping or container plant. The branches are graceful, arching and held at unusual angles giving a most interesting architectural affect. Bright green needle like foliage. Easy to grow. Evergreen.

This Conifer is commonly known as the 'Hollywood' Juniper - definitely a star in any planting scheme.

A fast growing NZ Native tree which has an attractive form and fragrant foliage. Masses of white tiny flowers are produced in summer. Useful for re-vegetation purposes and as a shelter belt. Tolerates drought, poor soils and frosts. Evergreen. Popular with the honey bees.

Lavandula. Fern Leaf Lavender. Originating in Australia this is a slightly different lavender with fine deeply divided grey leaves. The flowers appear for long periods and are coloured and intense violet blue. Likes the sun and protection from frost. Just a bit different. Evergreen.

Native. Call it Tea Tree or call it Manuka or even by its botanical name of Leptospermum this ubiquitous native tree is a familar site in our landscape. The scented white flowers that appear in summer attract bees that produce delicious honey. Will grow almost anywhere. Evergreen.

Native. Dainty deep green leaves that quickly form a low mat of tight foliage. In spring and summer myriads of starry shaped white flowers dance above the foliage, followed by fleshy red berries. Plant in sun or part shade in well drained soil that does not completely dry out in summer. Evergreen.

A popular, semi prostrate rosemary with upright curving branches with deep violet blue flowers borne on dark green foliage throughout the summer. Prefers a full sun position that has good drainage. Can be used for culinary purposes and attracts bees to the garden. Evergreen.
