Hybrid Tea. Bred in NZ by Bob Matthews this rose is generally rated as excellent. Wonderfully fragrant, repeats well, profuse and generous with bloom, good foliage and striking rich mauve rosette shaped flowers. To top it off 'Waimarie' also shows good disease resistance. Excellent in deed!

This rose was bred by Harkness Roses of England and was named to honour Earl Alexander of Tunis who was a British General during World War II - the breeder served with the General during the war.
