Hybrid Tea. A shrub rose with shapely blooms of very deep red on long, lovely stems. Gorgeous fragrance. The foliage is dark green and glossy and the bush flowers almost continuously throughout the season. A real goodie! 1989. PVR. Rob Somerfield says this rose is "named after the liqueur 'Blackberry Nip' that many will remember from our past. I'm afraid my memory of it is not a great one - my fault as I somewhat over indulged, now days I would choose to drink in the scent of this beautiful rose rather than the liqueur!
