Gardenia's are very striking evergreen shrubs with thick glossy green leaves and divinely perfumed cream to white flowers that will delight your senses throughout summer and through to early autumn. Planted in the garden or in containers Gardenias give their best in bright areas with morning sun and afternoon filtered shade.
Gardenias hedges not only look magnificent, they smell divine too.

aka Cape Jasmine

Glossy green foliage and delightful single creamy white blooms with a prominent yellow and scarlet eye make this Gardenia very striking. Plant in a semi-shaded, frost free position where you can make the most of the sensuous perfume. Happy in a container. Evergreen

Gardenias are gross feeders - meaning that like me they like lots of tucker. Regular liquid feeding will keep them healthy and happy or side dress with slow release fertilizer.

The heady perfume of this deliciously fragrant evergreen shrub makes it a winner for planting near a window or doorway. Bright glossy dark green leaves, pure white double rosettes of fragrance in early summer. Plant in a warm, frost free position. Feed regularly for best results.

Gardenias will grow happily in a pot as long as they are fed and watered regularly. They are gross feeders and respond well to regular liquid feeding. They can take a little sun but in NZ they are best protected from the hot afternoon sun.
