This Maple has pretty little drooping sprays of 'flowers' known as corymbs just before the leaves emerge.

Japanese Maple. A beautiful tall and elegant Maple with an upright habit. The spring leaves have 9-11 lobes and emerge shiny dark purple. Summer leaf colour has hues of bronze, red and green. Red tones in autumn prior to leaf fall. Plant in a sheltered spot. Deciduous.

This Maple was discovered as a chance seedling in the Esveld Aceretum and is possibly a cross between A.shirasawanum and A.palmatum. It has received an Award of Merit.

Chishio translates to "blood" to describe the brilliant scarlet tones of the new foliage.

Weeping. Deeply dissected foliage bursts into life in spring in a bright shade of lime green. In summer the leaves become edged with red for a striking contrast. Finally, in autumn the foliage takes on a red-orange. The softly rounded crown is made up of elegantly arching branches. Deciduous.

A dwarf Sango kaku. Discovered in Australia this dwarf form looks like a winner for those that want a true Sango but have little space. As with all colour barks you should not grow in really cold areas or wet areas. But for most this is a very nice smaller tree. Deciduous.
