Known for it's transition of colour from greens to reds as winter progresses. As soon as the temperatures begin to drop the bark begins to change colour to yellow at the trunk, the colder it gets the further up the colour moves from pale yellow through orange to intense red at the tips. Deciduous.

Dwarf upright form of Acer Palmatum with a compact layered look. The bright red shoots contrast nicely with the mature foliage, which is green with purple hues. In autumn the leaves turn a brilliant red. Purple bark adds to the overall look. Good for a container or in a special place in the garden.

Japanese Maple. This is a beautiful Maple that is definitely a favourite of mine. The dainty, new spring leaves emerge pale yellow with hints of orange and red before slowly turning green over summer. In autumn the yellow and orange tones are once again to the fore prior to leaf fall. Deciduous.

Acer 'Katsura' will do best in a sheltered position with protection from harsh wind and hot afternoon sun.

One can only assume that this Maple was so named because of the strong vigorous growth. Personally I think it should be called simply gorgeous! The long dissected crimson leaves sensuously droop on red stemmed branches. Definitely a must have. Deciduous.

Japanese Maple. What a special little tree this is with an outstanding structure and interesting over-lapping foliage. The new leaves emerge a light green maturing to fresh bright green. A lovely Maple for smaller gardens or a container. Plant in a sheltered spot. Deciduous.

This variety was the Maple Society of North America's Maple of the Year in 2015.
