Cercis, often called Redbuds, are small deciduous trees or large shrubs with an elegant form and brilliant showy flowers and foliage.
The reddish-brown bark and the dark zig-zag twig formation of the Cercis, together with the “pea-like” flower and colourful leaves make these trees popular and highly recommended for landscaping. In the spring time, before the leaves appear, light pink to dark magenta clusters of flowers make a brilliant showing along bare branches and even sometimes on the trunk.

Cercis prefers a moist, deep, well drained fertile soil in full sun, with shelter from wind.

An attractive small deciduous tree with an interesting branch formation. In spring these branches are covered in tiny, hot pink blossoms. The wow factor continues when the deep maroon foliage appears. Plant where the light can shine through the foliage and away from strong wind. Est.10yr.growth.

An unusual form of Cercis AKA 'Redbud' that has heart shaped golden foliage. The new leaves emerge red in spring and turn gold, those that are shaded have more of a green tone. In spring the bare branches are covered in tiny lavender flowers. Easy to grow in sun or part shade. Est.10yr.growth.

Chinese Redbud. This pretty deciduous tree dons large rounded glossy dark purple leaves. This is a hybrid cross of Forest Pansy and Texas White. Its tight dense habit make it perfect for smaller areas. Strong, bright pink sweet pea-like blooms are borne on the bare stems in early spring. Named for the colour of it's glossy wine coloured leaves.
