Chilli adds some zing to brunch

Hi

OMG its count down time for Christmas day and it comes around, seemingly, so quickly. I still have to write down a menu and a shopping list for the big brunch that we put on, which is enjoyed by our families and those that they know that may be away from their families. To me its all about being with family and friends. Its a fab day here with brunch, champers and a wander around the gardens and nursery. Got to say that it's a bit weird being in my home environment and not being open to the public for the day and not having to work..... well maybe a little bit as some of the hand watering still needs to be done.
Most years we crank out the barbie and sizzle off sausages and bacon, corn fritters, frittatas, meatballs in tomato sauce and off course fresh fruit salsa with chilli and heaps of coriander.  Salsa is so easy to make and just so delicious and goes with everything.  I use fresh seasonal fruits, cucumber, tomato and so on, the more colour the better, spring onions, finely chopped fresh chilli to add zing. Lots of fresh coriander and a lemon and honey dressing with that special tarragon oil of Harrys.

At this point of time I haven't quite got all those garden chores done that I wanted to have achieved prior to the big day.  The garden centre roadside hedges are all looking pretty cool though and even most of the large holly hedge. I Have sorted the cottage hedges and so Petes garden is looking pretty good. I have the next couple of days to sort the Villa gardens and hedges.
