Dragonfruit tree is a cactus native to southern Mexico and Central America. The fruit of this variety, also known as Pitaya, has a pink skin with green scales that resemble a dragon. The pulp is white with small black seeds. Very large (25-30 cm) white flowers open overnight and wither by morning.
