Citrus. 'Star Ruby' comes to us from Texas where it was first introduced. A medium sized Grapefruit with golden skin, and red flesh with an excellent flavour. The fruit is often seedless. 'Star Ruby' likes a nice sheltered position in order to fruit well so plant in a warm sunny spot. Evergreen.

Usually has a bumper crop every 2nd year i.e. has biennial tendencies but we won't hold that against it. Evergreen.

Nut. Hazelnuts are highly valued for their delicious taste plus the fact that they are high in protein and unsaturated fat. 'Barcelona' is a vigorous grower that produces large nuts in great quantities. Pollinate with Merveille De Bolwiller or Butler. Deciduous.

Harvest your Hazelnuts as they drop in February and March. Dry thoroughly prior to storage. 'Barcelona' is used extensively throughout the USA in the Hazelnut industry as it is such a top performer.

Something different. More suitable for warmer climates but may tolerate light frosts. Can be an attractive tree with rich dark green and bronze foliage. Pods up to 1m long contain sweet, juicy, white pulp with a soft candy-floss-like flesh that tastes of vanilla ice-cream. Self-fertile.

Tree will start producing pods in 3 years.
