aka Avocado (Group A)

A large round Avocado that is traditionally harvested mid-summer to autumn. The thin skin remains green when ripe. The flesh is smooth, rich and buttery with a nutty flavour. Plant in a warm sheltered position with protection from frost. Must have excellent drainage and prefers rich loam. Group A Evergreen.

'Reed' Avocados originate from Guatemala (just like Dr Ropata) and require frost free conditions when flowering in early spring in order for there to be a good fruit set. Either Fuerte or Bacon varieties can help with pollination in cooler areas.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland
