This smooth skinned variety of Feijoa also has smooth juicy flesh with a rich flavour. Pounamu has a high fruit yield and is ready early in the season around the end of March. Plant in a sunny well drained position preferably with another Feijoa for company. Evergreen.

aka Blue Grass

Native. A tough little native grass that hails from the Chatham Islands. The fine needles of foliage are a beautiful shade of blue green and quickly form a neat little clump. Can be used as an edging and certainly looks good mass planted. Easy to grow in a well drained sunny spot. Evergreen.

If you wish your Festuca coxii clumps can be divided annually to refresh and/or multiply.

Double, creamy white blooms with an exotic heady fragrance sit beautifully against the glossy green foliage of this desirable little shrub. Flowers for a long period. Loves humus rich soil and a sheltered frost free position. Feed regularly for top results. Evergreen.

The heady perfume of this deliciously fragrant evergreen shrub makes it a winner for planting near a window or doorway. Bright glossy dark green leaves, pure white double rosettes of fragrance in early summer. Plant in a warm, frost free position. Feed regularly for best results.

Gardenias will grow happily in a pot as long as they are fed and watered regularly. They are gross feeders and respond well to regular liquid feeding. They can take a little sun but in NZ they are best protected from the hot afternoon sun.

Native. A selected form of the ever popular Griselinia. Gorgeous, broad, glossy green foliage with attractive wavy margins. Ideal background shrub but at its best when used as a hedge. Tolerant of just about any planting conditions including coastal. Very tidy and well groomed. Evergreen.

Native. An easy to grow shrub which is invaluable for difficult sites as it is tolerant of almost any conditions including coastal. Fresh bright green foliage with attractive undulating edges. Particularly useful for hedging. Always looks neat and tidy, trims exceptionally well. Evergreen.

Bred by Jack Hobbs from the Auckland Botanical Gardens this is a tolerant little Hebe with delightful bright pink flowers that smother the stems from early summer. Dainty small leaves that clip well - makes a tidy low hedge. Plant in a sunny well drained position. Very easy care. Evergreen.

A lovely evergreen Holly with deep green foliage that has a purple-blue overtone highlighted by dark purple stems. The small white flowers are followed by red berries if pollination has occurred therefore best planted with Ilex Blue Prince the larger male form. Evergreen

Ideal for using as a low hedge or screen. Clips well really. Tolerant, hardy and easy to grow. Looks wonderful combined with blue annuals and perennials.
