aka Spanish lavender

Lavandula. A beautiful upright, bushy lavender. The fragrant flowers are soft grey blue with clear white wings that are held above silver grey aromatic foliage in Autumn, Winter and Spring. Tolerant of light frosts and humid conditions. Stunning, low maintenance Lavender. Evergreen.

A stunning Leucadendron that looks good all year round. Stems of deep red flower bracts make a real statement and are irresistible for picking. Deserves a prominent position in a warm sheltered spot in the garden. Prefers acid soil and protection from harsh frost. Evergreen.

Avoid fertilisers but will respond well to compost or peat.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland

A small compact shrub with bronzy-red tipped foliage in early Winter which develop into creamy yellow bracts late Winter. Suited to an open position that is free draining with acidic soil. Can be planted and used as a foliage flower in bouquets or even as a coastal planting to add some colour. Evergreen.

Prune for shape and size mid Spring.

A stunning new Leucadendron raised from Safari Sunset for winter colour, with erect habit and deep red bracts in Autumn that change to a bicolour stage in late Winter. Bract size is half that of its parent. Fantastic for picking. Must have good drainage and acid soil. Protect from harsh frost.

aka Pincushion Protea

An attractive plant when in flower showing off an unusual orange coloured pincushion flower that`s borne on long stems. Very striking in mid-late Spring. Ideal for coastal planting thats well drained acidic soil in full sun. Evergreen.

Prune well once flowering has finished to encourage good flowering the following year.

An erect, rounded, slow growing shrub with attractive vivid yellow flowers in October/November. Likes to grow in well drained soils in an open sunny position. Prune back well after flowering to enhance flower production next season.

A prostrate plant more suited for low plantings. Good for banks, rockeries and ground covers as they have trailing branches with yellow flowers turning orange then red with all colours seen on the plant at once. Hardy to coastal conditions and drought once established. Evergreen.

Will tolerate poor soil as long as its free draining.

aka Pincushion Protea

With unusual orangey-yellow pincushion flowers these are borne on long stems that make them striking plants mid-late Spring. Aiding to bring the birds into the garden they will tolerate coastal planting, well drained, acidic soil in full sun. Evergreen.

aka Tree daisy

The most floriferous of the olearias. In spring this shrub is smothered in large clusters of white flowers. Olearia cheesemanii or tree daisy is an evergreen NZ native. It is a medium growing bushy shrub with narrow pointed thin leathery dark green leaves. In spring large panicles of daisy like flowers appear. Thrives well in windy conditions. Great for hedging, very clippable, or use in boarder or shrub garden. Evergreen.

aka Rice flower

Masses of papery white clusters of pure white flowers are beautifully offset by the bright mid green foliage and stems. This is an easy care, medium size shrub that is drought tolerant. Tip prune when young to promote a compact habit and prune heavily after flowering once established. Evergreen.
