Beautiful buds of claret purple open to bright cyclamen pink, double blooms in mid spring. The clusters of flowers are beautifully formed and fragrant. Nice to pick. Plant in sun to light shade in deep well worked soil. Side dress with lime occasionally. Deciduous.

Any pruning should be done immediately after flowering.

A very attractive evergreen shrub from Australia. The fine foliage is a glossy deep green shade with new growth tinged bronze-red. Makes a very attractive hedge that responds well to clipping. White flowers in summer. Plant in a sunny well drained position and protect from harsh frost.

Syzgium (pronounced si-zig-eum) is quite frost tender when young - especially the tips of the leaves but it will get tougher as it matures.
