A NZ bred Michelia with large glossy green leaves and sweet little blooms of white tinged with pink. The blooms are fragrant and appear from winter through to spring. Generally well behaved and easy to grow. Plant in a sunny sheltered position with acid soil.

A lovely tree with dark-green leaves that densely cover this pyramidal-growing tree. During spring, bears pink, tulip-shaped flowers. Healthy, easy grower which retains its leaves well. It can be stunning as a stand alone tree, group planted, pleached or used as a tall hedge.

A relatively new introduction that has quickly become a firm favourite. The strong leathery foliage is complemented in spring by brown furry buds which open to highly fragrant cream cup shaped flowers. Useful as a specimen, can be planted as a hedge or alternatively try in a container.

A slow growing but handsome NZ native, conifer tree with a symmetrically straight tapering trunk and flattened stems acting as leaves. Produces nut like black seeds. Prefers a good soil with adequate moisture and some shelter to get established. Very cold hardy. Makes a stunning specimen. Evergreen.

Good for shrub-lands and forest of sub-alpine climates to sea level.
