Shrub to small tree, with sharply angled twigs. Leaves reduced to phyllodes. Phyllodes linear and up to 120 x 10 mm, usually with 3 prominent veins. Inflorescence is a spike of numerous pale yellow clusters.

Acacia: Derived from Greek 'akazo' to sharpen, meaning point; spine or thorn.

Flowering Gum. Handsome, single trunk, round headed tree with stringy reddish-brown bark. Glossy leaves with a red rib that are a deep grey-green. In summer spectacular flowers are displayed well above the foliage. Likes the sun and protection from frost especially when young.

The flower colour can range from brightest red, orange, pink on seedling grown trees. No matter what the colour this is a very showy tree.

Rosea is a popular tree for its abundance of large mainly red flowers that cover the tree in late winter and early spring. Rosea develops an open spreading crown, once the tree is established. It is quite drought and lime tolerant and moderately salt tolerant and also adapts really well to wetter climates. Evergreen
