China. A perfect little button-hole rose, simply charming. Almost always in flower with small perfect pink blooms that open from long pointed buds. Fragrance is light, sweet and spicy. Austin. Described by David Austin as "their finest white rose to date" and appropriately named after his daughter Claire. Buds of pale lemon open to large white blooms with petals arranged in concentric circles. The plentiful blooms are very fragrant. Excellent disease resistance. 2011.

Austin. Everyone just loves Graham Thomas because he is so generous with his blooms which are lightly scented. He always looks his best with warm, golden yellow blooms set against mid green foliage. He's also very reliable and a top performer. Also used as a climber.

This iconic yellow rose was named after Graham Stuart Thomas who was very influential in the re-introduction of 'old roses' to modern gardeners.

Floribunda. A unique and striking rose with a powerful spicy fragrance. The generous trusses of small, semi-double flowers are shaded a sensuous rich purple highlighted with golden stamens. While this rose is quite vigorous it has a compact habit and is virtually thornless.

Hybrid Tea. Possibly the world's favourite, best known and best loved rose. A delicate soft yellow edged with pink. Lightly fragrant blooms on a very sturdy vigorous bush. Wonderful as a cut flower. Repeats well and shows good disease resistance. Multi award winner. 1945.

This truly superb rose was bred by Frenchman Francis Meilland and named by Field Marshal Alan Brooke to celebrate the liberation of France at the end of WW11. It is a fascinating story - worthy of further reading and certainly 'Peace' is very worthy of planting.

Austin. Has a unique character and a very special beauty. The young flower is deep pink, almost red, gradually fading to a pure deep pink as the bloom matures. The undersides of the petals have a pleasing hint of yellow. The petals are rather narrow and unusually substantial.

aka Scabrosa

Rugosa. The name 'Scabrosa' refers to the roughness of the handsome foliage which is clear green with interesting veining. The summer blooms are bright cerise pink offset with golden stamens and are followed by big fat red hips. Nice sweet fragrance. Robust and vigorous. 1950.

This rose could be used as a hedge as it grows into quite a tall specimen. The hips can be used for culinary purposes.

Polyantha. This Polyantha rose should really be part of the 'Pollyanna' group as it always looks so cheerful. The Fairy is a great rose for group planting or using as a ground cover rose. It is tolerant of poorer soils and will even cope with a little shade. The Fairy is happy in a container and copes well with a haircut at just about any time. Recommended.
