A wonderful mounding foliage shrub from our Australian neighbours. 'Limelight' has a big, bushy, 'fro hair do made up of fine cascading green foliage. Well behaved in a container or the garden. Great landscaping plant. Happy in sun or part shade in light well drained soil. Evergreen PVR.

Acacia 'Limelight' should only be given a very light dressing of slow release fertilizer in the autumn as it is not a greedy plant and shouldn't be over fertilized.

Star Blush is a compact evergreen bushy NZ selection of this African species. Similar to a heather in its growth habit, summertime finds Star Blush covered with attractive deep pink, star like flowers. The foliage has a lemon scent when touched. Good in containers or in the border. Perennial.

This Southern Highbush Blueberry is a good choice for warmer areas of NZ. 'Marimba' is highly productive with large firm fruit full of flavour that ripen around December. Pollinate with another Southern Highbush. Plant in sun or part shade in rich acid soil for best results. Deciduous.

Bottle Brush. A spreading low growing form of this popular Australian shrub. During the summer it smothers itself with bright red 'bottle brush' flowers that are tinged with gold. Loves hot dry areas and happy on the coast. Quite drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

Members of the Callistemon family or 'Bottle Brush' as they are commonly known do not like too much fertilizer. The safest way to give them some nutrients is with a slow release product but remember in this case 'less is more'.
