Shrub to small tree, with sharply angled twigs. Leaves reduced to phyllodes. Phyllodes linear and up to 120 x 10 mm, usually with 3 prominent veins. Inflorescence is a spike of numerous pale yellow clusters.

Acacia: Derived from Greek 'akazo' to sharpen, meaning point; spine or thorn.

NZ's iconic native conifer. Slow growing but well worth the wait for the tree to mature into its stately form. Outstanding NZ native that forms a handsome spreading tree. Large, glossy, light green dissected foliage. Sprays of rusty red woolly flowers appear in summer followed by scarlet berries with jet black seeds. Will grow in quite exposed conditions but protect from harsh frost. Evergreen.

Plum Yew. An interesting and unusual Conifer which has foliage rather like a Yew hence the common name. This selection has rich green, dense leathery foliage and drooping branches. Though hardy it prefers a cool sheltered position with a regular water supply in extreme heat. Evergreen
