aka Climbing Hydrangea

Lacecap. This is a very rare, self-clinging, climbing Hydrangea that hails from Mexico. The evergreen leaves are large, serrated and dark green. The flat white flower heads open from large buds and appear en masse in summer. Protect from harsh frost. Evergreen.

An interesting plant that can be used to cover an unsightly wall or fence, perhaps use it to cover a water tank if you live rural. Like me the plant may droop a little in our harsh afternoon sun but as long as it is well watered it will recover as the day cools. Perhaps happiest in a morning sun only position. Information Pages

Jasminum azoricum, commonly known as lemon-scented jasmine is an evergreen climbing vine. Small dark green glossy leaves and white highly scented star-shaped flowers in summer. Ideal for growing over a trellis or fence.

Jasminum Beesianum is a popular climber with deep rose pink slightly fragrant flowers in mid summer along the stems. Unpruned it can reach a height of around 5m easy to trimmed into shape after flowering. Grow on walls, trellis or fences; a good screening plant. Loved by bees. Evergreen

Jasminum mesnyi is one of the true yellow jasmines. This ornamental climber is both vigorous and hardy. They rich yellow flowers are not known to be fragrant but for sheer colour display it is a winner. Responds well to pruning after flowering. Excellent bonsai jasmine. Evergreen.

aka Late Dutch Honeysuckle, Woodbine

Masses of fabulously fragrant, tubular, white flowers that turn deep yellow, and are streaked red outside, smother this honeysuckle in late spring. In hot summers, the flowers may be followed by small, bright red fruits. Deciduous and earlier flowering than many other varieties, this one will quickly cover a boundary wall or fence in full sun or partial shade.

Honeysuckle. Aah the sweet scent of Honeysuckle fills the air and tells you it must be summer. Fragrant blooms of yellow with pink interiors decorate this climber from summer to autumn. Easy to grow as long as protected from harsh frost. Evergreen or semi-evergreen depending on winter cold.

Birds and Bees just love Honeysuckle. This climber is quite vigorous so make sure you have a support system organized prior to planting.

Fabulously fragrant, large, tubular, white flowers, ageing to yellow amidst oval, mid-green leaves. Nothing beats their sweet honeyed fragrance on a warm summer breeze. Later flowering than many varieties of honeysuckle it's ideal for a cottage or wildlife garden. Deciduous.

aka Wire Vine

The twisting, tangled stems of this native Climber make for an interesting and useful plant that can be trained as a climber or used to scramble informally wherever you want quick cover and a plant of interest. Plant in morning sun in soil that does not completely dry out in summer. Semi-evergreen.

The flowers on the female form of Muehlenbeckia are inconspicuous but emit a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are followed by little white berries. This plant also responds well to clipping and is often used for informal topiary work.
