Native. The floral emblem of NZ and loved by Tuis and gardeners alike. The native name Kowhai means yellow and represents the pendulous racemes of nectar filled yellow flowers that appear in spring. This species flowers at a younger age than others. Evergreen.

aka Three Kings Vine

This is a very special New Zealand plant. Originating from the Three Kings Islands where there is only one plant still remaining in the wild. All plants sold today are descended from this one wild plant. Great cover plant, frost tender. Evergreen

The tecomanthe vine will only flower if it is growing horizontally.

This structure is an ideal support for climbing roses. It is 1.86 m tall, 40 cm wide at the base and opens out to a width of about 68 cm at the top. Could also be used for tall perennials such as Delphiniums.

A hooked sedge that forms dense mounds of red, or reddish-brown, arching leaves. The flowers form a simple spike, with male flowers on top and female flowers below. Ideal for containers on the deck, rockeries or in mass landscaping. Likes to be moist but free draining. Evergreen.

Commonly is found in grasslands, open scrubland and bogs in New Zealand.

aka Puriri

One of our largest forest canopy trees with an open habit. Puriri occurs naturally throughout the North Island from the coast to lowland forest. It has dark glossy green leaves and pinkish red flowers are produced throughout most of the year, followed by bright red berries. Frost tender, Evergreen.

Grows mainly in Northland. Large forest tree.
