A delightful slow growing marginal plant with variegated foliage in tones of pink, cream and green. Plant in pots with soil and gravel, or submerge in ponds where it will filter water. Young shoots and leaves can be eaten and are highly valued in Asian cuisine.

This prolific little aquatic plant develops pretty red leaf-tips if grown in bright light. It is easy to grow and will develop leaves of different shapes depending on whether or not it is fully immersed in water. When submerged, the leaves are narrow while emergent plants develop rounded leaves.

Aquatic. An excellent pond plant or for swamps. It can be grown fully submerged in water (no deeper than 10cm) or in moist, boggy soil. Tolerates seasonal flooding. Has long hanging white flowers that curl on the tip like a lizards tail. Attractive with its heart shaped leaves. Perennial.
