With its well formed, cup-shaped yellow flowers in Spring it will flower mid to late Spring this variety is considered `The Best` yellow to have in the garden. Later in Summer, Autumn it has lovely color in the foliage.

The seed for this Magnolia was first collected from the Yunnan region in China by intrepid plant collector George Forrest in 1924. It didn't flower until 1947 - good things do indeed take time.
