Quince. This disease resistant Quince was developed from an old tree growing in the garden at the Brown Sugar Cafe Taihape. The aromatic fruit are a lovely lemon shade and highly ornamental. Tolerant and easy to grow in a sunny spot. Use for making cider, jams and preserves. Deciduous.

Quince have a slightly different habit from other orchard trees in that the fruit blossom is borne on the current seasons growth therefore it is best to only lightly prune. Just take out any spindly branches in order to keep the tree open. Suitable for most NZ climates.

One of summers great delights, great in home gardens. With rose type leaves, simple small white flowers followed by sweet delicate very large fruit ripening in summer with good flavour and firmness. Plant against a fence where support is given. Frost tolerant. Deciduous.

This divine raspberry grows as a bramble on upright canes. Covered in rose like leaves, simple small white flowers are followed by luscious sweet delicate golden fruit. Easily removed from vine when ripe. Vigorous. Self fertile. Harvest Dec to April, Main (2nd) crop Feb to March.

Raspberry Ivory TM s of red raspberries and except for fruit colour have all the characteristics of red raspberries.

Produces light red juicy berries with excellent raspberry flavour. A dwarf raspberry that is self fertile, round compact habit that is thornless and ideal for containers on the deck or patio. When ripe eat straight from the bush, throw in the kids lunchboxes or make a delicious dessert.

A high yielding, mid-season Raspberry is almost thornless, and has medium sized berries. The fruit comes away from the bush readily, making harvesting easy. This variety has a high resistance to fruit rot. Main crop in summer, smaller (2nd) autumn yeild. Deciduous.

Most Raspberries fruit on 2nd year 'canes' i.e. older wood. 'Nootka' also fruits on new growth. You will need to provide a support framework for the 'canes' to grow against. Raspberries love well rotted organic matter and will fruit best when given a well balanced fertilizer in early spring.

An excellent variety of summer Raspberry with almost thornless 'canes' and bright glossy berries with an excellent flavour. Bred with good resistance to fruit rot. The fruit ripens in early summer. Plant in a sunny sheltered position. Deciduous.

Raspberries fruit on 2nd year 'canes' i.e. older wood. They need a support framework for the 'canes' to grow against. They love well rotted organic matter and will fruit best when given a well balanced fertilizer in early spring. It is also important that the soil does not completely dry out in summer.

Tulameen Raspberries are a widely grown commercial variety that also does exceptionally well in a domestic fruit garden, producing heavy crops of large berries. These are bright and glossy and have an excellent flavour. Upright semi thornless canes. Deciduous.

Unlike Regular Canes, Long Cane plants must NOT be cut back after planting. The canes should be left intact as supplied. They will then develop fruit-bearing side shoots at the top of each cane which will flower and produce fruit for picking in the first season after planting at the same time as new growth (next year's fruiting wood) is thrown up from the root stock. N.B. In subsequent seasons, treat as Regular Canes.

Waiau is one of the early ripening Raspberries so if you're looking for a start of the season treat this could be for you. Raspberries are one of summer's great delights and are an ideal home garden plant for most temperate areas of New Zealand. They are easy to grow and very rewarding.
