The fig tree is highly ornamental as well has providing us with a delicious edible fruits. Broad lobed glossy green foliage and sweet fruit that ripens around March. Needs a sheltered sunny spot away from harsh winds and frost. Vigorous grower. Deciduous.

Fig trees usually fruit 2 to 3 years after planting. They fruit on the new wood. The fruit is picked when the green fruit starts to turn brown and as birds absolutely love figs you may need to cover the tree or be very vigilant. Enjoy.

Ventura fig has a compact growth form and produces large fruit with green skin and dark red interior flesh. The fruit have a pronounced long neck, ripen later in the season and perform well in the cooler climates of the figs' range. Ventura is grown both for drying and for fresh eating.

The Goji Berry is an ancient medicinal and culinary plant from Asia that is highly valued for its therapeutic qualities. Green foliage, purple and white flowers in summer followed by nutrient packed red berries. Grows best in a sunny well drained position. Self-pollinating, hardy and deciduous.

The Goji Berry will eventually form a strong trunk a bit like a grape-vine. The somewhat trailing branches can be trained as required. Fruiting should occur after the 2nd year with full production around year 5. Quite drought tolerant once established. This so called 'Superfood' is certainly worth a try.

The Gooseberry has long been cultivated for use in pies and jellies and has a high content of Vitamin A and potassium. You will know the berries are fully ripe in summer when they are easy to pull off. Any surplus freezes well. Plant in morning sun or part shade. Deciduous.

The Gooseberry is hardy and in fact loves a cold winter however be aware that new spring growth can be damaged by frost. Gooseberries like a nice layer of mulch or compost around their shallow roots. When pruning remember they fruit on older wood.

A well shaped, slightly bristly fruit that is dark red when fully ripe. Berries are larger than Invicta. Good eating. The plants are very vigorous and spreading but can be shaped up by pruning. Produces occasional spines on young wood, but at maturity it is virtually spineless.
