Native-Wine Berry-Makomako Serrated green leaves with purple tones to the under-side, clusters of pink flowers in spring which are followed by juicy black berries that birds love. Grows happily in the sun in most soils as long as they are not too dry. Tolerates light frost. Semi-evergreen.

Berries will only occur on the female tree if pollination occurs. The Wine-Berry has separate male and female trees. Attractive to Tui.

Native. Renga Renga Lily. Discovered at Matapouri Bay, Northland, this great landscaping plant has broad, lush, blue-grey, foliage and dainty sprays of creamy white blooms in summer. Plant in well drained fertile soil. Prefers filtered light though will tolerate some sun. Perennial

A delightful dwarf selection of NZ's popular Renga Renga Lily. Forms a nice little clump and looks great when planted en-masse. Pretty panicles of white flowers dance above the foliage in spring. Best in part shade with protection from harsh frost. Suits coastal conditions. Evergreen.

Probably better known as Bird's Nest Fern is a very striking feature plant with its bright green, wavy edged fronds that grow in a rosette shape forming a bowl or nest shape in the centre. Can be grown as an indoor plant for air purification or outside. Frost tender.

Thriving in the low light it is an excellent container plant for a sheltered and shaded patio or shade house in warm climates.

This NZ native Fern makes a striking cover plant for shady situations. Looks good group planted beneath established trees and is useful to plant with Hostas carrying on the interest after the Hostas have died down. Likes the shade and nice moist humus rich soil. Protect from frost.
