Dark red/black fruit, similar to boysenberry but about 15mm long. Fruit from 2 years on year old wood. Fast growing deciduous tree with large oval serrated leaves. Flowers in spring, Harvest in summer. Easy to grow in a sunny position. Self fertile. Deciduous.

Flowers appear early spring. Small yellow/green pendulous catkins separate male and female. The male is more slender than the female. Both appear on the one tree. Self fertile and wind pollination. More than one tree will increase fruit set. Harvest - spread a cloth beneath the tree and let fruit drop onto it. Harvest over 3 months, daily collection is best.

Quick growing round headed small tree with large, deeply lobed, evergreen leaves. Bright yellow, delicious fruit about the size of a small apple are produced, usually within 2 years if both male and female are present. Harvest in late winter, early spring when fruit is yellow and softened.

Feed with high phosphorus NPK fert in spring and summer. Male and female flowers may be produced on the same plant or seperate plants. A plant may vary from male to female during the year. Therefore, to ensure pollination more than one plant is needed.
