An unusual and desirable form of the hardy and ever reliable Holly. Very dark green leaves - can be used for hedging, topiary or as a background plant. Easy to grow just about anywhere but happiest in a sunny open spot. Evergreen.

aka Japanese Holly

'Sky Sentry' AKA as 'Sky Pencil' is a wonderfully architectural plant with its strong upright, columnar habit. The small, dark green, glossy leaves hug the upright stems and always look tidy. Use where you want to make a punctuation mark in the garden. Easy to grow in sun or part shade.

'Sky Sentry' is a female form of Holly but needs a male for the flowers to turn into berries. Currently there is no male form on offer. 'Sky Sentry' has been awarded a Royal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit.

aka Bay Tree

This is a top 10 shrub which not only looks good it tastes good as well! The leathery dark green foliage is highly aromatic and popular for cooking. This same foliage clips extremely well making the 'Bay' perfect for hedging and topiary work. Easy to grow. Evergreen.

Bay Tree. With a tight, compact habit it looks good with its dark green, aromatic foliage for hedging, a low maintenance topiary in the garden or as a feature in a container. Prefers moist, fertile, well drained soil and will tolerate sun to partial shade. Evergreen. Edible leaves.

aka English Lavender

Lavandula. An 'English' type Lavender with deliciously aromatic foliage and flowers. The grey leaves are off set by dark purple flower heads that appear from summer through to early autumn. Makes a lovely hedge. Trims well (after flowering). Plant in a sunny well drained position. Evergreen

After trimming your Lavender dry the flower heads to use for potpourri. Top tip - put dried Lavender in the vacuum cleaner bag to perfume your whole home and keep the vacuum smelling sweet.

aka French Lavender

Lavandula Hybrid. A popular Lavender that produces an abundance of long stemmed, dark lavender flower heads through-out the summer. These are used commercially for dried flowers and oil production. Just lovely in the garden and will help attract bees. Well worth planting for the fragrance alone.

'Grosso' is probably one of the most deliciously fragrant of all the Lavenders available to gardeners' today. Evergreen.

aka Spanish Lavender

One of the most popular Lavenders sold in NZ and there's a good reason for that. The plump purple flower heads appear in abundance from early spring through to late summer. It performs well, looks good and clips well. Happiest in a sunny well drained spot. Evergreen.

Use for low hedges, container planting, topiary work or just plant amongst your other treasures in the mixed border. A great little Mediterranean lavender that seldom disappoints.

Lavandula. English Lavender. This selected form of the ever popular and very fragrant English Lavender will delight the senses with stems of intense blue-mauve flowers in the summer months. Aromatic fine grey foliage. Plant in a sunny well drained spot and trim after flowering. Evergreen.

aka NZ Iris

This little Iris has to be one of my favourite NZ natives as it has such dainty white "butterfly" flowers. The narrow sword like leaves form a strong clump, the flowers appear in summer followed by ornamental seed pods. Easy to grow in average soil in a sunny position. Evergreen.
