This popular apple is very well named because it is indeed golden and very scrum-delicious. The flesh is crisp and juicy with a sweet honey flavour. Lovely eaten fresh but can be cooked. Highly productive and ripe towards the end of autumn. Deciduous.

Heritage Apple. An ancient variety from Europe that is worth growing for the historical interest alone. The skin is yellow with a strong flush of red and lightly russeted. A good eating apple and can be used for making cider. Good disease resistance. Deciduous.
