Sasanqua Std. One of NZ's favourite Camellias and deservedly so. An abundance of large wavy white blooms with prominent yellow stamens appear in early autumn through to early winter. The blooms are softly scented. Happiest in semi-shade. Evergreen. Presented here as a Standard.

This beautiful Camellia is definitely one of my favourites. Introduced from Japan in 1898 so a proven winner! Translation of the name means Snow, Moon and Flowers - isn't that just lovely?

aka California Lilac

Std. An attractive evergreen shrub which features sparkling clusters of dark blue flowers in late spring. The shiny foliage turns a deeps ebony shade during winter, changing to dark chocolate-green during spring and summer. Quite hardy and tolerant of wind and cold. PVR 1334.

Ceanothus fix nitrogen from the atmosphere so require no fertiliser.

Standard. Chocolate without the calories! The soft melted chocolate colour of the leaves combines well with other foliage and looks fantastic as a formal hedge with a difference. Easy to grow and clips extremely well. Yellow flowers in spring followed by berries that birds love. Evergreen.

A tough, hardy shrub discovered by the late Mike Geenty in the Waikato. A top plant for hedging or topiary. Attractive olive-green leaves, small yellow flowers in spring followed by red berries that birds love. Tolerates regular trimming. Presented here as a topiary standard. Evergreen.

Corokia are tolerant of coastal conditions and thrive in just about any soil though their preference is for an open sunny site. Very quick to establish. Can be grown in a container.

Smoke Bush Standardised. A beautiful foliage shrub with new spring leaves emerging with crimson purple tones aging to green with a purple tinge as summer progresses and once again deepening in tone prior to leaf fall. The frothy cloud of pink flowers appears in summer. Easy to grow, healthy and hardy. Deciduous

Low growing wide spreading habit with stiffly angled branches. Bright green leaves turning vivid orange in Autumn. Red and white flowers followed by masses of shiny red berries. Grafted on as a 90cm standard. Prune in autumn after leaf fall. Deciduous.

A fast growing shrub with lush dark green foliage of small glossy green leaves always look tidy. Tiny white flowers in spring followed by bright red fruits. Stunning in the garden or a large container. Hardy, semi-evergreen.
