A lovely neat and tidy Hebe that always looks like it has just been clipped hence the common name of Topiarist's Hebe. The dainty grey-green leaves on short stems form a rounded compact mound. Use in groups or as an ideal contrast plant. Likes the sun and well drained soil. Hardy and evergreen.

Hebe Topiaria will occasionally flower in summer with little white flowers that are rather inconspicuous. Its value is as a foliage shrub and is highly enough thought of to have received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

An upright semi spreading shrub that is very prolific in flowering gorgeous pink flowers from early Spring through Summer. Reasonably hardy and will tolerate some shade but best in full sun. Native. Who doesn't love the Pohutukawa AKA The NZ Christmas Tree. Attractive leathery blue-grey foliage and unique yet beautiful crimson tufted blooms that appear in summer. Tolerant of harsh conditions and poor soil but doesn't like frost. Evergreen.

This iconic NZ tree is seen at its best along the Thames-Coromandel Coast. It is worth taking a road trip in December-January just to see these coastal beauties in full flower. Pretty good specimens on the road into Whakatane as well.

Native. An excellent form of NZ's 'Christmas Tree' that grows with a clean straight trunk and has few aerial roots, making it highly suitable for street planting or the home garden. Did you know that the name 'Pohutukawa' means 'drenched with spray'? Referring of course to the many beautiful trees growing in precarious positions on NZ's coastline.

The twisting, tangled stems of this native Climber make for an interesting and useful plant that can be trained as a climber or used to scramble informally wherever you want quick cover and a plant of interest. The flowers on the female form of Muehlenbeckia are inconspicuous but emit a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are followed by little white berries. This plant also responds well to clipping and is often used for informal topiary work.

The most floriferous of the olearias. In spring this shrub is smothered in large clusters of white daisy-like flowers. Known as 'Tree daisy' this is an evergreen NZ native shrub. It is medium growing and bushy with narrow, pointed, thin leathery dark green leaves. Flowers borne in large panicles.

Thrives well in windy conditions. Great for hedging, very clippable, or use in boarder or shrub garden.

This native Daisy is not the easiest of plants to grow but if you have just the right position it is well worth the effort. Large grey green, leathery leaves are highlighted in summer by crisp white daisy flower heads with a yellow centre. Must have a sunny spot with excellent drainage. Evergreen.
