Alba. Introduced to Britain by the Romans this historic rose has pure white semi-double flowers followed by attractive hips in autumn. Sweetly scented. Suitable for hedging or can be used as a small climber. A simple yet beautiful rose. AKA The White Rose of York. RHS AGM.
NB. Rosa x alba Maxima is also known as the White Rose of York.

Alba. White, yellow stamens. Strong fragrance. 15 to 19 petals. Large, semi-double to double, cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Leafy sepals buds. Produces red hips in fall. Can be grown as a climber in mild climates. Bred before 1629.
