Gallica. An unusual rose that grows quite tall with strong arching branches. It bears single, deep pink simple flowers which aren't complicated at all. An attractive pale central zone highlights the prominent yellow stamens. Flowers mainly in summer. Good autumn hips and a soft fragrance

A large flowering, slightly fragrant hybrid tea rose. Large well-formed soft pink flowers are produced throughout the growing season on tall stems. Medium green glossy foliage. Ideal for cutting and can be used for hedging.

Climber. One of the first introductions in what are now known as English roses. Old fashioned cupped and full blooms in clear bright pink. Only flowers in early summer however the flowers are very long lasting. Delicious fragrance. Healthy and vigorous. Award of Garden Merit. 1960. Deciduous

Summer flowering from the old wood. Dead head flowers when spent.

Hybrid Musk. When I first started growing roses this was one of my favourites. The small double flowers are produced in large clusters and are a blend of apricot, buff and pink. Nice bronze tones to the foliage and a good musky fragrance. Few thorns. Use as large shrub or small climber. 1925.

Rugosa hybrid. Large single blooms of dark pink highlighted with golden stamens appear continuously throughout the season. The blooms are very fragrant and if left uncut will produce large scarlet hips. Dark green foliage. Shows good disease resistance. AKA Hazel le Rougetel. 1988.

Patio. A great little rose for the front of the border or for use as a low hedge. Semi-double simple and charming blooms of pale creamy yellow with a flush of pink are borne in generous trusses. Slightly arching and spreading habit. Very showy. 1989

Floribunda Large deep red blooms that make a real statement in the garden and that also carry a nice scent. The foliage is light green and quite disease resistant. A lovely modern rose that will give you plenty of blooms to enjoy. 1997.

Hybrid Tea. Exquisitely beautiful cream blooms with a warm coffee glow in the centre. The blooms are fully double when open and deliciously fragrant. Nice compact habit. Multi Award winner even with 1st for fragrance. You'll want to plant more than one of these.

Climber - Noisette. We just love this rose at Wairere and it is much admired in our garden. Seldom without a bloom from spring through to autumn. The flowers are a silky shade of apricot yellow with a loose relaxed petal formation. Good sweet fragrance and simply stunning in full bloom. Few thorns
