Austin Rose. Soft orange-red buds open to medium-sized, cupped rosettes of perfect apricot colouring. They are extremely robust and have a lovely fruity tea scent. Very healthy all round attractive compact bush. Few thorns. Named to mark the centenary of the British author, Roald Dahl's, birth.

Floribunda. Well you will really get your groove on with this award winning NZ bred rose. The bright red blooms open with a patch of orange-yellow in the centre and on the reverse. This quickly fades leaving lightly scented 'painted' flowers of red and white set against dark foliage. 1988.

Rugosa. This strongly scented rose has beautiful semi-double, velvety wine-red flowers with a hint of purple. It is constantly in bloom over a long period. One of the best loved Rugosas with good reason. Nice dark green foliage which colours well in the autumn. Very hardy and tolerant. 1901.

The strongly scented flowers are followed by giant tomato-shaped hips. Hips are suitable for refreshing Rose Hip Tea.

Shrub. This strongly growing shrub rose is a very reliable performer. Glossy dark green foliage and single flowers that are blush pink on the edges with a cream central zone. Nicely prominent golden stamens complete the picture. Fragrant flowers appear continuously throughout the summer. 1979.

This is a good rose to use for hedging as it is quite broad in habit being wider than it is tall.
