Rambler. Small, dainty, semi-double flowers in shades of pink, salmon and creamy yellow appear throughout the summer. Blooms are delicately scented. Growth is upright (good for a pillar) and the foliage is light green and plentiful with relatively few thorns. Tolerates poor soil and some shade. 1923

aka AKA Eden Rose

Climbing Hybrid Tea. Large full blooms that look like little round cabbages but oh so much prettier. The flowers are creamy white with over tones of lavender pink. Nice fragrance. Strong vigorous grower with bright green generous foliage. 1987.

FYI Pierre de Ronsard (1524-1584) was a French Poet who was popular in court about the time of Mary Queen of Scots. He was also an avid gardener. The breeder, Meilland honoured him by the naming of this lovely rose. Poetic justice wouldn't you say?

Hybrid Tea. A multi award winning red, red, rose bred in France. This rose has even won an award for fragrance so you 'nose' it smells delicious. The hybrid tea shaped blooms appear from summer to autumn. It may be shy the first year after planting but will soon settle in. Glossy green foliage. 2001.

Climber Modern. With a name like Sky Tower you know that this rose is upwardly mobile. Glossy green, disease resistant foliage and pretty light pink blooms with a bright pink reverse. The blooms are presented in large clusters on strong stems. Award winner PVR. Bred by Rob Somerfield 2004.

aka The Dunny Rose

Climbing-Tea. A gorgeous old rose often found adorning barns, fences and out-houses hence it's common name 'The Dunny Rose'. Will tolerate some shade, one of the first roses to flower in spring with fragrant, loosely shaped blooms in shades of pink, yellow and copper. Vigorous with few thorns. 1897.

This rose flowers on 'old wood' so take care not to prune back too hard. Named after the breeder's wife. Generally healthy and disease resistant. Give it room to flourish and you will be rewarded with blooms on and off right through to autumn.

Hybrid Perpetual Climber. Velvety port-wine coloured blooms that are semi double, cupped and richly fragrant. The stems are virtually thorn-less. The blooms which repeat well do not like full sun so this rose should be given a semi-shaded position. From France in 1865.

A good healthy climber, stunning in full bloom and award winning: Certificate of merit at the NZ Rose Society trials of 2022. There aren't a lot of hardy climbers with vibrant yellow blooms, so it's lovely to have this new option. Long stems and good for picking. Bred by Rob Somerfield of Tauranga. Climbing.
