The nearly thorn-less stems are easy to train or use as a cascading shrub. A sport of the bush rose discovered in 1952. FYI Pierre de Ronsard (1524-1584) was a French Poet who was popular in court about the time of Mary Queen of Scots. He was also an avid gardener. The breeder, Meilland honoured him by the naming of this lovely rose. Poetic justice wouldn't you say?
