Climber. An unusual and very beautiful climbing rose that flowers in spring or early summer only. The double, quartered and fragrant flowers are a rich mixture of yellow and apricot orange. Healthy dark bronze green foliage. Will tolerate some shade and looks lovely scrambling up a tree. 1956.

Climber. This rose has a sweet fragrance and clusters of large classically shaped pink flowers on a compact climber. Suitable for smaller spaces. Strong upright bushy growth. Nice to give to that someone special. Very showy, and good repeat flowering.

2017 Winner Pacific Rose Bowl Festival Best Climber. This rose received excellent reviews from The New Zealand Rose Society in 2010 with comments such as "picks well", "great form" and "masses of blooms".

Climber Modern. Gorgeous relation of 'Compassion'. Large round buds open to big, multi-petalled blooms of rose pink with a slightly deeper pink on the reverse. Lovely pronounced fragrance reminiscent of apple blossom. The foliage is a lush and dark green with bronze tones. Repeat flowering.1949.

Climber. This well behaved rose looks spectacular in full flower. Beautiful, huge, single flowers in brilliant red highlighted with crimson and golden stamens. Deep green foliage. Repeats well with plenty of flowers. Nice soft fragrance. If you love single flowers then it's a must have. 1967.

Climber. Add a touch of gold to the garden with this lovely climbing rose. The beautiful apricot buds open to large, fragrant, well formed blooms of deep golden yellow. Use to decorate a wall or fence, a vigorous grower but well behaved all the same. Lovely for picking. 1982.

Climber. The flowers of this rose are most unusual and a little hard to describe. Double greyish white blooms tinged with slate lilac and buff with a soft fragrance. Certainly a very pretty and romantic effect when in full bloom. Quite vigorous in habit and combines well with soft pinks. 1955.

Climber. An outstanding, fragrant, rambling or climbing rose that will make it's way over anything with its strong vigorous growth. Pale, pretty and pink in colour with masses of petals creating a sumptuous old fashioned effect. Tolerates some shade and shows good disease resistance. 1992.

Climber, Azubis is a vigorous, shrub with thorny stems bearing pinnate leaves with ovate, toothed, dark green leaflets and clusters of large, strongly fragrant, fully double, high-centered, mauve to lavender flowers smother the bush with many repeats from summer into autumn. Deciduous.

Austin Climber. Apricot-yellow buds open to a large showly cupped, many petalled rosette. They are a beautiful blend of subtle apricot-pink and soft yellow, giving the overall impression of apricot, with creamy outer petals. Strong, honey, myrrh fragrance. A vigorous climber with mid-green foliage.

The name was inspired by the heroine of Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd.

Climber. Mr Toogood of Melbourne found the seedling of this simply beautiful rose on his birthday and what a present! Spring flowering with dark, velvet red, double flowers that are very fragrant and excellent for picking. An enduring gift to celebrate a loved ones birthday. 1950.

Climber Hybrid Tea. An excellent rose with healthy disease resistant foliage, seductively scented, long stemmed, deep purple blooms that are perfect to pick. Stunning addition to any garden and bred right here in NZ by Rob Somerfield. 1998. Multi Award Winner.

Rob Somerfield says this rose is "named after the liqueur 'Blackberry Nip' that we all remember" from our past. I'm afraid my memory of it is not a great one - my fault as I somewhat over indulged, now days I would choose to drink in the scent of this beautiful rose rather than the liqueur!

A lovely little rose with button-hole blooms of pretty pink that appear in large sprays throughout summer. The blooms are lightly scented. Fine green foliage and stems with few thorns. Often confused with 'Cecile Brunner' but distinguished by the long sepals at the base of each bloom. 1920.

Hybrid Musk. A well known and well loved little climber with fully double blooms varying from buff-yellow to soft apricot. Really pretty in full flower. Recurrent with a good strong scent. Could be used as a tall bush or small climber. 1939.

Climber. This sweet climbing rose as pretty pink blooms with a hint of mauve towards the edge. Reasonably compact for a climber so ideal for smaller gardens. Repeats well. Winner of the Best Climber award in 2009.

Moss Dark purple to crimson, colour may soften in strong light. Strong fragrance. Medium to large, double, quartered bloom form form mossed buds. Once blooming spring or summer. Grows to around 120 cm tall, can be trained as a climber. Very disease resistant. Bred by Jean Laffay (France, 1854).

Climber Large Flowered. The best description you could give this rose is 'that it's all good'. Double, quartered, full and fragrant blooms shaded a clear primrose yellow. Repeats well, nice hips in autumn if not completely dead headed. Excellent dark green, glossy foliage. Simply charming. 1963.

China. A perfect little button-hole rose, simply charming. Almost always in flower with small perfect pink blooms that open from long pointed buds. Fragrance is light, sweet and spicy. Relatively few thorns and healthy foliage. This climbing sport is quite vigorous and will tolerate some shade. 1894.

Climber Noisette. A summer flowering small climber with spicy scented flowers of primrose yellow. The quartered frilly blooms have a green button eye. We have this in our garden and it performs well. Repeats intermittently until autumn. 1842.

Climber - Floribunda. This rose has it all. Clusters of very fragrant, large, cupped, semi-double blooms in delicate blush pink fading to white with age. Strong vigorous growth habit and few thorns. Can be grown as a large shrub or small climber. Multi award winner. PVR. 1987.

Climber. Beautiful trusses of semi-double clear pink blooms with cream highlights and a central halo of pronounced stamens. Dark green foliage and dark purple stems offset the fragrant flowers nicely. Gold Medal Winner. The name is French for morning light. 1960.

This lovely rose repeat flowers from summer through to autumn and is tolerant of some shade and poor soil.

Austin. Described by David Austin as "their finest white rose to date" and appropriately named after his daughter Claire. Buds of pale lemon open to large white blooms with petals arranged in concentric circles. The plentiful blooms are very fragrant. Excellent disease resistance. 2011.

Claire Austin is also an established nursery woman growing perennials. Her book "Irises- A Gardeners Encyclopedia" is a "must have" for any Iris grower.

Climber. If you're fond of the confectionery of the same name then you'll love this frothy, fragrant double pink rose with profuse and prolific blooms. The flowers fade to white with age. Good 'sweet' fragrance. Vigorous and healthy rose which is aptly named.
