Gallica. An unusual rose that grows quite tall with strong arching branches. It bears single, deep pink simple flowers which aren't complicated at all. An attractive pale central zone highlights the prominent yellow stamens. Flowers mainly in summer. Good autumn hips and a soft fragrance

China. This is such a pretty rose bred in France in 1902. The almost single blooms are shades of soft orange and pink highlighted with red. And oh the perfume. Flowers from summer to autumn. Lovely. Assume named after Zoe Talon AKA Comtesse du Cayla and mistress of Louis XVIII.

Large single blooms of dark pink highlighted with golden stamens appear continuously throughout the season. The blooms are very fragrant and if left uncut will produce large scarlet hips. Damask. An enchanting old rose that became known around 1848 but is certainly older than that. The fully double purple blooms have an exquisite fragrance. The new foliage has a bronze tinge to it that contrasts nicely with the bright green, more mature leaves.

A tall growing summer flowering rose with trusses of single blooms that are a vivid red tone fading to pale white in the centre and highlighted by golden stamens.
