Portland. A unusual rose with grey green foliage and large flowers of rich warm pink that emit a heady fragrance. The continuously produced flowers are excellent for cutting. Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Truly lovely and a reliable performer. 1863.

Gallica. Fully double pale pink blooms that carry a pleasant fragrance appear throughout summer. Dark grey-green foliage and an upright habit. Quite a vigorous grower that will tolerate poor soils and some shade. France 1829.

Centifolia. A chance seedling classed as a Centifolia but some say it is a modern hybrid. No matter the heritage it is a truly beautiful rose with pink quartered blooms that have a strong sweet fragrance. The blooms appear in large clusters for a long period but do not repeat thereafter. C1940.

Hybrid Perpetual. This rose would have to be one of the nicest striped varieties with semi-double blooms of pink and crimson. The blooms appear from mid-summer through to autumn and are nicely fragrant. Light green foliage, vigorous and upright. France 1921.

Gallica Ciolacea. Stunning near single flowers of a rich velvety crimson purple with stunning yellow stamen contrast. This healthy, upright bush with lush foliage, is said to have originated in Holland around 1700's. Deciduous.

This once only flowering rose should only be pruned after flowering to ensure the next seasons flowers.
