Intricate, delicate, fascinating... these are words that spring to mind when I think of Leucospermum flowers. Their common name, pincushion flower, certainly gives a resemblance of what they look like but when you really look at them they are so much more. Predominately native to South Africa these plants like a warm setting. Full sun is paramount and excellent drainage too so these guys don't get wet feet. These range from low growing ground covers to small trees and all have beautifully, colourful, pincushions at the end of their branches.

A rounded shrub belonging to the Protea family. The branches are covered in a smooth grey bark and has small inverted lance shaped greyish leaves. The flower heads are usually dark orange and face downwards during flowering. Flowers appear October to December.Evergreen and a great lover of hot and dry.
