A robust upright yet slow growing shrub. It has bright pink/red bracts tipped with a white beard.the whiteish flower mass has a prominent deep purple black tuft. Thrives in sunny, well drained , acid soil. Evergreen.

Prune back after flowering has finished.

A protea magnifica hybrid with large deep red flowers. Free flowering over a long period from late summmer to spring. In spring cut back to shape and to encourage good flowering the next year. Likes full sun and free draining soils

To have success with your Protea good drainage is essential. They like a nice light slightly acidic soil. They don't like fertilizer high in phosphates. Generally feeding is not necessary but a slow release with a low phosphate (P) rating is the safest to use. Any pruning should be done after flowering.

A new semi spreading shrub which produces medium size flowers. Flowering can occur almost all year round with peak flowering being from Autumn to Spring.The flowering bracts are deep red and tipped with a black tuft. Plant in full sun in a well drained acidic soil.
