Fraxinus is the English Ash, which is a genus in the olive and lilac families. The leaf of an Ash can vary - some, like the Olive leaf, are narrow and long; other varieties have an ovate or cordate leaf not unlike a Lilac. Leaf colours also vary with many new cultivars now available.

These large stately English trees are fairly fast growing and grow well in New Zealand.
Some Ash are evergreen!

aka Weeping Golden Ash

Weeping Golden Ash. Smooth, golden yellow, pendulous branches with fat black buds that open to reveal leaflets of lime yellow. The foliage turns to a brilliant golden yellow before leaf fall. A graceful and unique specimen tree that is easy to grow in a sunny spot. Deciduous.

This exceptional form is an ideal specimen or avenue treee. Young growth is a delightrul bronze colour and becomes lush green for the rest of the growing season. A fine network of small branches creates a tight beehive shape.

A special tree from South East Asia that has small narrow green foliage that has a silvery underside. Panicles of small, white, fragrant flowers appear in late spring. Quick growing in a warm, well drained spot. May lose foliage in very cold conditions otherwise evergreen.
