A very special deciduous tree with a upright columnar habit, of the magnolia family. The distinctive fresh green foliage is large and lobed and turns a warm golden yellow in autumn. The summer flowers are fabulous and tulip shaped, hence the trees common "The Tulip Tree". The tree is deep rooted, preferring a well-drained and slightly acidic soil, in a sunny location with part shade.

Beautiful, soft butter-yellow, large leaves are a feature of this unusual selection. Deeper gold autumn tones. Neat, broadly conical growth form. Slower growing than the normal species. Shelter and semi-shade preferred. May burn in hot dry conditions. Good well drained soils.

A very special deciduous tree with a upright columnar (fastigate) habit. The distinctive fresh green foliage is large and lobed and turns a warm golden yellow in autumn. The summer flowers are also most distinctive - tulip shaped, fragrant and coloured green with an orange base. Deciduous.

The Liriodendron is commonly known as the 'Tulip Tree' because of the shape of flowers. 'Arnold' may take 3 to 4 years to flower after planting. Happy in sun or part shade in deep acid soil that does not dry out completely in summer.
