It doesn't take a lot !!
Hi
Grandmothers, Mothers, Special Aunties, day or anyone who feels like a mother to you!
My goodness! Where would we all be without our mothers. Well first up we wouldn't be here LOL
I know that over all the years our mothers have supported both Harry and myself in the growth of our business Wairere Nursery.
My mum has lent us money when we had tough times, she has helped us in the big rose pot in years past and still these days cleans our office. She cleans all the old signage and sellotapes on the new one ready for the garden centre.
Today Harry has come home from visiting his mum at Cascade retirement village. He took his mother some flowers the other day, while walking past the lounge, another lady yelled out how beautiful they were and H said that he was taking the flowers down to his mother. Harry put them in a vase and realized that his mother could only see the front half so wandered back down to the other lady and shared the other half.
It doesn't take a lot to give some joy or to say thank you to someone special in your life. It could be as simple as just spending time with them or a bunch of flowers, dinner at home, flowers, plants. Celebrate mothers day!
Camellia Mothers Day. A simple yet elegant single flowering Camellia which blooms - yes you guessed it - around about Mother's Day in May. The blooms are large, white, with a slight pink blush on the edges. Prominent golden stamens complete the picture. Camellias make for very good plants in the garden and can also be grown in pots though a semi shaded position is the best
Mum in a million Hybrid Tea. A beautiful rose for your beautiful Mum. Bright rose pink blooms that are large and fully quartered. Wonderful strong fragrance and dark green glossy foliage that shows good disease resistance. Plenty of blooms throughout the season. PVR. 1997. AKA Ghita Renaissance.
Lavender with Love This sweet Lavender has been bred to stay compact, flower its head off and cope with humid conditions so you know it will be a reliable performer. The grey-green aromatic foliage is topped off with flower heads of deep pink with paler pink 'bracts' in spring-summer. Evergreen.
Cyclamen. Fresh in this week and in gorgeous shades of pinks purples and whites. These are a pretty neat flowering plant to give for a gift and so suitable for this time of year. They like the cool season and will last for ages flowering their hearts out.
If you would like to have something sent out from the nursery, then tomorrow is the last day for dispatch so we must have any orders early in the morning. The garden is looking great at the moment so if you want to bring mum out for a wander and then a browse in the nursery, well its as good as going to a park LOL
Have a great weekend and celebrate Mothers day,
Cheers
Lloyd, Harry and the Wairere Team
Make it a Wairere weekend where even GNOMES know that gardening's not a drag.
