It forms a wonderful cover and it has a fresh green colour which is reminiscent of lawn. The foliage is very prickly, a common characteristic of many junipers. Most are pretty tolerant with soils, but they dislike a wet environment. Many will take quite alkaline conditions too.It is also often grown as bonsai.

I am not sure why this Juniper is depressed but give it a nice home in your garden and I am sure it will cheer up! These giant silver proteas are beautiful trees with light-reflecting, silky, silver leaves. An erect ornamental tree, with a stout trunk and thick grey bark. They are at their most silver in hot, dry weather, when the hairs on the leaves lie flat to protect the leaves from drying out.

Avoid fertilisers but will respond well to compost or peat.
