Here's something just a bit different. The 'Kilmarnock or 'Pussy' Willow has pendulous branches covered in fresh green leaves with a fleecy grey underside. Makes a nice weeping tree for the garden or beside a waterway. Silky catkins in spring before the foliage emerges. Easy to grow. Deciduous.

aka Japanese Snowdrop Tree

Beautiful small tree with a slender smooth trunk and a spreading fan like branch structure. Graceful dark green oval leaves with a scalloped edge. Clusters of fragrant white 'snowdrop' shaped bells hang gracefully from the branches in late spring. Well worth planting. Deciduous.

aka Swamp Cypress

Something just a little different - a deciduous conifer and unlike its other family members happy to grow in swampy wet areas. Attractive soft ferny green foliage in spring, in autumn this turns a warm rusty brown before falling. Fibrous red brown bark and a nice sturdy trunk complete the picture.

aka Swamp Cypress

Swamp Cypress - Weeping. A unique deciduous conifer that has attractive green ferny foliage that turns golden brown before leaf fall. Interesting fibrous bark and 'knobbly knees' that grow from the roots. This form has pendulous side branches giving the tree a naturally graceful habit.

Taxodium 'McLaren' Falls will grow happily in moist to wet soil but will also tolerate growing in normal garden soil as long as it does not completely dry out in summer. Named for where it was discovered - McLaren Falls in the Kaimai Ranges.

Large tree with a nice rounded head. Heart shaped leathery leaves, glossy dark green above and pale green beneath. Summer flowers ivory coloured and sweetly scented. A very popular avenue tree in Europe. If you've got the space then this is the tree to adequately fill it! Deciduous.

European Lime. A popular park/street tree as it makes such a handsome specimen with a rounded crown and good clean trunk. Fragrant flowers appear in summer, these are often used as a herbal preparation for colds and bronchial conditions. Tough and hardy, suitable for pleaching. Deciduous.
