A trendy succulent houseplant. With its plump strings of pearls they can cascade down over the sides of any pot or can be hung in a basket and left to trail down or along a shelf or windowsill. When the pearls are healthy, they are firm to touch (test gently!).

A trendy succulent houseplant. With its plump leaves that look like watermelons or stripey balls they can trail down over the sides of any pot or can be hung in a basket. These can be grown outside in a sheltered sunny spot well away from frost or too much water.

aka Shallots or Scalloins

A versatile perennial bulb that has a mild sweet taste compared to its close relative the Onion. When planting do not bury the bulb too deep - 1 bulb should multiply to 6-12 bulbs which are harvested when the green tops wilt and turn brown usually in autumn. Dry in the sun prior to storage.

The green tops of your Shallots can be used like chives for salads etc if you wish. Shallots are shallow rooted so it is important that they get even moisture for good yields i.e. do not let them dry out. They will store for up to 12 months after drying.

Makes a nice grassy foliage clump which is smothered in mauve-blue flowers in spring and into Summer. An easy and robust edging plant for a sunny well drained spot. Suitable for planting between pavers, or in rockeries or containers. Evergreen and hardy.

Create a fabulous foliage effect by group planting this striking member of the Iris family. Lime green sword like leaves edged in butter yellow are topped off with dainty soft yellow blooms which appear on spikes in late spring. Plant in a sunny well drained position. Remove spent flower stalks.

Stachys lanata is better known as Lamb's Ear, this silver, woolly leaved plant makes great ground cover. Furry spikes carrying small purple flowers are produced in the middle of summer. Well drained soil reduces rotting of hairy leaves, and loves full sun or some shade.
