Rugosa. This beautiful rose has a rich fragrance which is considered to be one of the best in the rose world. Large, double, bright red flowers which darken towards purple in the hot sun. Dark green bushy foliage and an upright habit. Originating from France in 1901.
Parfum De l Hay We are not expecting to have this plant in 2026 Modern Shrub Polyantha. Another delightful rose from French breeder Delbard. This rose produces masses of semi-double pink to soft lavender flowers that have a white central zone highlighted with yellow stamens. The blooms have a lovely fragrance. Very free-flowering. PVR 2000.

The flowers are coloured a rich salmon with coppery apricot overtones. Nice shiny foliage that also has tones of copper. Repeats on and off throughout the season especially if in a nice sunny spot. 1900.
Paul Transon Clg We are not expecting to have this plant in 2026 Rambler Std. A lovely old rose with slightly muddled medium sized blooms that are fully double. The flowers are shades of salmon pink with coppery overtones. The foliage is glossy green and also has coppery overtones. Nice fragrance and plenty of blooms. A pleasing rose dating back to 1900.

aka Peace or Mme A Meilland Hybrid Tea. Possibly the world's favourite, best known and best loved rose. A delicate soft yellow edged with pink. Lightly fragrant blooms on a very sturdy vigorous bush. It is a few years since I had 'Paul Transon' in my garden but it was a rose I always admired and enjoyed growing.

This truly superb rose was bred by Frenchman Francis Meilland and named by Field Marshal Alan Brooke to celebrate the liberation of France at the end of WW11. It is a fascinating story - worthy of further reading and certainly 'Peace' is very worthy of planting.
